Ms Sonja Neumann

Paediatric Dietitian
BNutDiet(Hons)

Sonja is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with a special interest in infant and paediatric feeding. She completed a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Flinders University (Adelaide) in 2002 and a 12-month Honours research project in 2003. Sonja has worked with children and their families in various settings including the Women’s and Children’s Hospital (Adelaide), Lively Eaters Feeding Services (Adelaide) and Ready Step Grow (Melbourne).

Sonja is particularly interested in working with families through the challenges of limited diets, sensory processing difficulties, oral aversion, stressful meal times, tube feeding, transitioning from tube to oral feeding, growth concerns, developmental delay and disabilities affecting nutrition and feeding. She is passionate about normalising feeding for families who may have experienced a stressful, prescriptive approach to feeding.

As a mother of three young children, Sonja is sympathetic to the everyday challenges faced by parents. She is committed to forming supportive, non-judgemental partnerships with families to work towards the best outcome for the whole family.
