Emma Weir
PGDip Clin Psyc, MPsych
Emma is a Clinical Psychologist who works with youth and adults, offering a warm, flexible, and client-centred approach to care. With experience in New Zealand’s public health system, Emma has supported people with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and challenges with emotion regulation. Her approach is flexible and integrative, drawing on a variety of evidence-based therapies like CBT, ACT, DBT, and EMDR to tailor treatment to each individual’s needs.
Emma is motivated to build strong therapeutic relationships and works alongside clients and their families to help them gain self-understanding, build practical skills, and feel empowered to face life’s challenges whilst drawing on their strengths. She also recognises the important influence of developmental stage and the broader systems young people are part of — including family, culture, and peer networks — and ensures her approach is holistic and personalised.
