Dr Shidan Tosif

Dr Shidan Tosif is a general paediatrician with a consultant appointment at the Royal Children’s Hospital. He was awarded his medical degree with honours from the University of Western Australia before training as a paediatric physician at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. He currently is also undertaking a PhD and maintains research appointments at the University of Melbourne and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.
Shidan has a special interest in travel medicine for children. He has experience in administration of BCG, as well as other travel vaccines and scheduled immunisations. Shidan also assesses for malaria prophylaxis and general travel advice to keep children healthy when overseas. Shidan works with families to determine specific recommendations for each child based on their age, country of travel and medical history.
Shidan has a broad experience in managing health issues affecting newborns, infants, children and adolescents. He takes a holistic approach to health and enjoys working with families to find solutions that best suit their needs. Shidan also has an interest in acute and chronic health issues, such as, failure to thrive, asthma, eczema and urinary tract infections. In his spare time, Shidan enjoys being father to a young family.
