Jacky is a paediatric endocrinologist with broad expertise in the care of endocrine conditions in children. These include issues with growth and puberty, thyroid, vitamin D and bones, the pituitary and adrenal glands, and the ovaries or testicles – including developmental variations of sex characteristics, Turner and Klinefelter syndromes, congenital adrenal hyperplasia and gender dysphoria.
Jacky has authored a large number of medical and scientific journal articles, and has been heavily involved in the development of national and international treatment guidelines for a range of endocrine conditions. She is recognised as a leading expert in developmental variations of sex characteristics and gender dysphoria, and has been invited to speak at national and international medical conferences on these topics. She has been sought to provide expert advice to the Victorian Government, the Australian Government, and the Australian Human Rights Commission on the care of children with endocrine conditions. She is a senior university lecturer and has received awards from the University of Melbourne, the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, the Australian and New Zealand Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia.
