Mr Ricky Kumar completed his Medical and Dental degree in New Zealand and proceeded to complete his Maxillofacial Surgical training in Adelaide. After obtaining his fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2011 he embarked on sub-specialty training in paediatric maxillofacial surgery and corrective jaw surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. He underwent an additional year of sub- specialty training in the United Kingdom at Oxford University Hospitals, where he continued his training in paediatric maxillofacial and TMJ surgery.

Ricky currently holds public appointments at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital, Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne and Monash Health. He is a supervisor of surgical training at the Royal Dental Hospital and Dandenong Hospital and is a guest lecturer at Melbourne University Dentistry faculty.

Ricky enjoys providing general maxillofacial service, having particular interests in dentoalveolar surgery, implantology, oral pathology and facial trauma. His sub-specialty interest areas are paediatric maxillofacial surgery, corrective jaw surgery and TMJ surgery.

Outside of work, Ricky is committed to the profession and contributes to the surgical community as chief organizer of yearly charity oral and maxillofacial operating missions to Fiji and currently holds the position of Secretary for Victorian ANZAOMS and is a Junior councillor for federal ANZAOMS.
